Gabriel does leave his face neatly shaved, but usually ends up appearing like permanent stubble as his hair is dark in comparison to his skin color.  Gabriel does have very faint, and nearly unnoticeable acne scarring on his left temple from his teen years. His hair is soft, and a very dark, fading black in color.  In the summer, if he had been outside enough it would look like a dark chocolate color. Overall though his hair color is like that of black coffee.  Gabriel normally leaves his hair short, and in a fairly chaotic style. Despite that he does tend to keep an overall clean appearance. He does possess a few wrinkles in his face now, as he is approaching the age of forty, most of which indicate that he smiles and laughs a lot, and some faint crow's feet. His physique is not that of an athlete, but Gabriel is in shape.  He's a lean, and toned man, built more like a runner but is healthy.  However, in the recent years he has gotten self conscious, as he does bear a few faint burn scars on his torso.  These are normally concealed beneath a shirt, or a coat, and aren't mentioned under most circumstances. Gabriel does have a few scars on his hands from the various nicks and cuts from his days in medical school, and from the odd accidents in general. He also bears several scars from the Second Wizarding War.  His sense of style is that of class.  He likes to dress to appear orderly and clean.  He will wear things like t-shirts and jeans when he doesn't have an obligation to appear professional.  He prefers muggle clothing like slacks, jeans, t-shirts and dress shirts.  He will wear a simple work robe, over his suit while teaching but these are not his preferred fashion choices. [/b] BRIAR PIERCE – Briar is the love of his life. There simply aren't enough words in any language that would be able to describe just how much Gabriel loves his wife, and closest friend. They had met in their first year in Hogwarts, and grew to be close companions and later he fell deeply in love with her.  Gabriel loves Briar with everything he has. He would willingly lay down his own life for her in a heartbeat if it meant that she would be safe.  He wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his life and if possible forever with her by his side. Gabriel tells Briar everything about his life. There is no other person, save Gabriel's mother, that knows him better.
II. HIS PARENTS – Samuel and Bridgette Perry are some of the greatest people that Gabriel has ever known.  They were muggles and they always worked hard for the best things in life.  His mother still sees him and his family on occasion and she babysits for them often.  Gabriel loves his mother dearly like any one would, and holds her in the highest regard.  His father was his greatest role model, and he still looks up to his father.  It was his father who was the first to embrace magic as a reality in Gabriel's life. Gabriel owes many of his life skills to his mother who taught him everything she knew about life and how to take care of himself. One could even say that he was a mama's boy.
III. HIS CHILDREN – Gabriel and Briar currently have two children and Gabriel would do anything to keep them safe.  His children are his pride and joy, he does his best as a father to them, even reading them their bedtime stories.  Not so much for Grace anymore since she is a student at Hogwarts now.  However, he does just about everything for his kids, and that includes making sure that they would be taken care of in the event that something should happen to him.
IV. WORK – He loves his job. Work is a coping tool for Gabriel and he works when he is upset.  He works when he is sad, or depressed.  Gabriel believes that work and service build character better than most things in the world. As such he does not like to lie around and do nothing.
V. CAPTAIN AMERICA – His favorite superhero was always Captain America.  Gabriel's childhood role model besides his parents and teachers was the Cap.  Steve Rogers was always so willing to sacrifice himself for someone else, and so willing to serve.  It's no surprise that Gabriel took those lessons to heart.  He also has a replica of Captain America's shield in his office, hanging on a wall. Gabriel understands the importance of compassion and selfless servitude.
VI. PIE – Gabriel's favorite sweet treat happens to be pie.  He specifically loves his mother's recipe for apple pie. It is a recipe that he'd been taught as well, but doesn't feel that he makes it quite like his mother does. As a child his mother used to make her apple pie for Gabriel on those days when he came home from a hard day of school.  Gabriel associates pie with comfort, because of how he was treated to pie when he was stressed or having a hard time.
VII. CHOWDER – Among Gabriel's favorite foods is a hot bowl of chowder. He enjoys Cape Cod style codfish chowder, as well as some clam chowder. His idea of relaxing would happen to be enjoying a bowl of chowder that he'd cooked.  His kids associate this food with comfort as well, as Gabriel made them fish, corn, crab or clam chowder quite often during the war.
VIII. COOKING – He has a talent for the culinary arts, he learned most of it from his mother who had sworn to make sure that when he lived on his own that he wouldn't be eating nothing but mac and cheese and peanut butter. He has all his family recipes memorized. As such he makes dinner at home for his family a lot. He's not a gourmet chef, but he is good enough at cooking that his family enjoys his food.
IX. BOOKS – Gabriel collects books. He has quite the library in his house and in his office at Hogwarts.  Books are vast tomes of information to him, and Gabriel enjoys a good book and some coffee on any day.  He has implemented the tradition of bedtime stories for his children, so he does buy or borrow books often as to read his kids new and exciting stories.
X. MUGGLES – As Gabriel is a muggleborn, he has a background in the muggle world.  He also attended muggle college and medical school after Hogwarts.  He believes that muggles are strong in their own way.  After all they live their lives without the conveniences of magic. Some muggles actually fantasize about magic not knowing that magic is indeed real. He wouldn't mind living among them again if he really needed to.
XI. MINERVA MCGONAGALL – Quite easily his favorite professor in Hogwarts. He is quite intimidated by her, but he appreciated her lessons in Transfiguration. If it weren't for her instruction he might not have ever done so well in Transfiguration.  He had always made sure to do his best in her classes like he did in all his subjects but he had a talent for her subject.
XII. MEDICAL SCIENCE – There's a good reason why Gabriel chose medical school, when his parents advised him to get a muggle college education.  He always had a fascination with medicine.  However he preferred teaching as a career over being a healer at St. Mungo's.  Despite that, if he weren't teaching at Hogwarts he would be practicing medicine in a muggle hospital.  He enjoyed learning about the human body, and ways to make it healthy after complications and other such things.
XIII. STAR TREK – As a child, Gabriel was introduced to a muggle television show called Star Trek. His favorite character happened to be the Vulcan named Spock. Gabriel and his father would say ‘Live long and prosper’ to each other before Gabriel would get on the train to Hogwarts. Though the mention of ‘Live long and prosper’ still makes Gabriel smile to this day, and he associates the TV show with some lighter and simpler times with his dad.

[/b] DOLORES UMBRIDGE – Gabriel can't imagine why anyone would like Madame Toad. During the school year of 1995-1996 Gabriel was given a lot of grief as he was evaluated and seemed to be picked on.  It was during this woman's reign that Gabriel had gone long periods of time without seeing his wife and son. She had even used her dark item as punishment on his own daughter along with the other students.  Her abuse of power was irritating to Gabriel. She had even made it difficult for him to be a good father to Grace at the time.
II. PICKLES - Pickles are gross.  He doesn't enjoy the taste, and sometimes the smell irks him. He'd also gotten sick eating pickles once as an 8 year old. He's since not liked pickles and steers clear of them.
III. ROBES - He dislikes robes strongly, as he feels like a six man tent while wearing them.  He prefers muggle clothing over robes, and he will usually be seen wearing suits at work, and jeans in his off time. He owns robes but when he wears them the robe will magically find itself back in his office or bedroom.
IV. BULLIES – He hates bullies and doesn't care where they come from. There is no point to bullying except hurting someone, or proving that you're better than someone else to yourself, and nothing more.  Gabriel does not tolerate bullying.  Anyone caught bullying in Gabriel's line of sight will be dealt with accordingly.  If they happen to be a student they will receive, a good reprimanding and loss of house points.
V. PUREBLOOD SUPREMACISTS – Gabriel is a muggleborn, and this already touches a nerve just from something he can't control.  He feels that muggleborn wizards are just as powerful as purebloods, sometimes more so.  In school he had issues with pureblooded students calling him mudblood, among other such names, and those memories have kind of stuck on him.
VI. PREJUDICE – Gabriel feels that this comes from ignorance above all else. However, ignorance could only be an excuse for so long, and is later not a viable excuse to hate someone for no good reason.  Gabriel has been a victim of prejudice for a long time, especially from his peers at Hogwarts.
VII. DARK ARTS – Evil.  Gabriel's strong sense of right and wrong automatically sees something wrong with this. He also feels that it's not a good thing to hurt people, and take their free will. The dark arts also leaves a bad feeling for Gabriel, and it's not something that he wants his children to experience.
VIII. HYPOCRITES – Say to do one thing, but do the complete opposite?  While Gabriel understands imperfection this isn't okay.  A person can mislead a lot of people and then hurt them later if they were caught in their hypocrisy.  Gabriel feels that it’s a poor example to set for children when their parents are telling them to say one thing and then do something contrary to what they said. Gabriel feels that it’s no better than lying to their faces.
IX. DISRESPECT OF WOMEN – There aren't enough words to describe how much Gabriel hates it when a man disrespects a woman.  He really doesn't like seeing a man push a woman around. He feels that real men don't push women around. Growing up, Gabriel learned from his father the proper way to interact and treat a lady by the way he was so gentle, and respectful of his mother.
X. ROACHES – So Gabriel really hates roaches. They creep him out, smell nasty and are carriers of numerous diseases.  Gabriel likes things to be clean, and roaches are a good sign of filth.  Not to mention that the pathogens these little creatures carry include dysentery, typhoid fever and cholera, also parasitic worms, hepatitis A and leprosy, among other diseases.
XI. BEING USELESS – When Gabriel is told to rest and be on bed rest he is automatically in a bad mood.  After all, if he's lying around or sitting around doing nothing, he's not being of any help to anyone, and he's not doing anything useful.  He likes to be of use, and the opposite of being so leaves him in poor spirits.
XII. BRIAR’S PARENTS – Gabriel had met Briar’s parents as a teen and later learned how much they disliked him. They didn’t like how Gabriel’s parents were muggles, and how he was a ‘mudblood’ as so many pureblood elitists liked to point out. They didn’t seem to catch the part where Gabriel was more than capable of taking care of Briar, and how much he cared about her. It was because of them that Briar cried at their wedding since they weren’t there.

[/b] SELFLESS - Gabriel is known for his soft heart and his willingness to help just about anyone who needs it. He is and tries to be the epitome of the Good Samaritan(or he tries to be) and lives his life with a mind to serve others. He learned from an early age that one of the best ways to get over a depressive state is to serve others, and it's a lesson that he'd taken to heart later on.
II. INTELLIGENT - Being the kind of person who graduated at the top(or really close to it) of his class in school, Gabriel is very smart. This intelligence has helped him in numerous situations. It also helps him in planning dates with his wife. He puts a lot of thought into his tokens of affection, whether it be a few horseshoes because Briar had mentioned that she wanted to hang a set of them on a wall or new mittens for his daughter because he'd noticed a hole in the fingers of her old ones. Gabriel is able to discern someone's gait, and notice when it's off. He also has an eye for details, as he was able to survive the war due to this.
III. COMPASSION - He has a big heart, and he had always been taught that compassion was one of the most important qualities in a person. A quality that is often looked down upon, but Gabriel was taught to learn to have compassion. He seems to be naturally compassionate though. He tends to look for the welfare of the people around him.
IV. PROTECTIVE -  Gabriel would do anything to protect his family and his friends. Most of what he does everyday are things he does to protect Briar and his two children. He risks no harm to the people he cares about.  He's already suffered the loss of a few, and refuses to lose anymore. He is especially protective of Briar. He does everything in his power to protect her and keep her safe. Gabriel's need to protect the people he loves is where his willpower comes from.
V. DEDICATED – He is such a devoted father. He always takes time to read his kids a bedtime story and to play games with them. As such this devotion is shown in other areas in his life. He is a dedicated and fiercely loyal husband to Briar, and he is dedicated in his work as a teacher. He puts all his efforts into things he considers the most important. As a friend he also puts his all into his closest relationships and would gladly lay down his life for his friends.
VI. DESIRE TO LEARN – Gabriel has an insatiable thirst for knowledge, whether it be a new hobby, or a new recipe to try out. He is willing to learn just about anything especially if it would help him in his line of work. Gabriel's sheer hunger for knowledge is what outweighed his other personality traits that sorted him into Ravenclaw as a student.
VII. COLLECTED – He is able to stay calm in almost any situation. It's mostly because he rather not cloud his mind with panic, or unrest so that he could keep the people dearest to him safe. Gabriel is well acquainted with situations that require a steady mind. However, in rare occasions when he is panicking he will also be very impatient.
VIII. BILINGUAL – Gabriel is fluent in Mandarin as his second language. He began taking it as a six year old child when his father made a joke about the Chinese taking over the world. Since then he'd taken courses in the language to where he could be about 85% fluent in the language.
IX. TRANSFIGURATION – This was very likely Gabriel's best subject in school, tied with Ancient Runes.  Gabriel was taught by Professor Minerva McGonagall, and certainly put this schooling to good use. He also used what he learned in Transfiguration in his courtship with Briar in a similar manner that he uses charms.
X. CHARMS – As a student Gabriel naturally did well in Charms.  In his later years in Hogwarts Gabriel used his prowess in charms to try and win Briar's heart by enchanting things like candies and flowers. As a result he ended up practicing his charms quite often, and it became one of his best subjects at school.
XI. ANCIENT RUNES – Gabriel had a real love of Ancient Runes when he tried the class in his third year.  He also had a talent for it.  Gabriel's love of this subject compelled him to teach it later on after he had completed his medical training, and he needed to figure out a steady job in the wizarding world in order to support his family.
XII. SEEKS IMPROVEMENT – Always willing to improve himself, Gabriel welcomes constructive criticism. He sees himself as a work in progress and strives for self perfection, that way he could be the best father and husband for his family.
XIII. RESPONSIBLE - He handles a great amount of weight on his shoulders and he is always doing what he's supposed to. He fulfills his duties as a husband and father. He is also able to recognize where he is responsible for things.  For example, as a teacher he knows that he is responsible for his students when they are in his classroom. As such he has a habit of looking after his students as a mentor.
XIV. TEACHING – Gabriel enjoys teaching, and he tutored in college for money to pay for his living expenses. He's good at it and he shows a lot of enthusiasm for his subject when he teaches it in Hogwarts. Gabriel realizes that teaching has it's downsides, but he feels very satisfied in his occupation. He wouldn't want to be in any other career if he didn't absolutely need to switch.  Of course the only exception to this would be muggle medicine.
XV. MUGGLE MEDICINE – Medicine was a subject that Gabriel was always fascinated with, and if he weren't teaching at Hogwarts it's a given that he would be a doctor in the muggle world. He finds that he enjoys reading medical journals and textbooks in his spare time and he actually owns a whole bookcase full of medical books. He showed almost a natural prowess in muggle medical school, but because he wished to join Briar in the wizarding world he chose a career in teaching instead.  However if the need ever arose he would certainly pickup his white lab coat again, and go back to medicine.

[/b] WORKAHOLIC -  Gabriel uses his job as a coping mechanism. He loves to work, as he believes that work builds character, and if he is upset about something he will just work the feeling off. Gabriel has worked himself sick before. He also works through grief, and usually those are the times when he will work more, and harder.
II. ALTRUIST - He forgets himself. He will always think of someone else before himself.  This goes to extremes.  He has a tendency to take on more than he should.  He's gotten himself sick thanks to this flaw numerous times. He also has a habit of neglecting his own safety. That can be a poor quality to have nowadays, but Gabriel was always taught to look outside of himself.
III. HIS FAMILY - His greatest weakness happens to be one of his greatest motivators. His family, and more importantly his wife are the most important people in his life. Gabriel would do anything for them. He would lay his life down for them in a heartbeat. However, in a pinch his family can be used as leverage against him. This is kind of a given weakness considering his devotion to his family.
IV. PERFECTIONIST - Gabriel expects perfection of himself. If he doesn't do something just right he feels as if he failed. Even though he realizes that he is a work in progress he does still expect perfection to come out of him. He only really expects this of himself, and not so much of other people.
V. POTIONS – This was possibly one of his worst classes in Hogwarts.  While he did get passing grades he worked incredibly hard to get those marks. He got help from some of his housemates and even his professor in order to get a satisfactory grade.
VI. STUBBORN – When it comes to his mighty standards and virtues Gabriel will not budge. As well as things like who or what he is affiliated with. You cannot change his mind with your words.  He is set in whatever perspective he wishes to have and only he can change it. He is also stubborn in the sense that he likes having his own individuality. Which means if he does something really weird, he doesn't care what anyone else thinks(with the exception of Briar).
VII. TWO LEFT FEET – Gabriel has two left feet.  He's not very graceful, and he's a terrible dancer. If he does it would have taken him a lot of practice, and many hours of sore feet. He does usually end up embarrassing himself at times when he trieds to dance and more often than not fails to perform.
VIII. BITTER – Gabriel has a deep-seated hatred of pure-blood elitists.  He hates bullies, and anyone that he witnesses bullying anyone else will not receive sweet treatment from Gabriel. He also detests the people who support death eaters as it sounds a lot like what the Nazis were trying to do during the second world war.  As a student many of those sorts of people picked on him and other students like him because of something he couldn't control.
IX. IMMATURE – He does have a tendency to act like he was still in college, and he is not above pulling pranks on people.  He does also have a tendency to act like a petulant child when he is told that he would have to be on bed-rest due to an illness or something of that nature.
X. RASH – When Gabriel wants to get something done, there is a good chance that he will resort to something dangerous, and extreme if there is no other clear path to success. This can result in him jeopardizing his own safety. If people he cares about are in jeopardy it is more likely that Gabriel will resort to things that aren't so safe for him.
XI. ARTS – Even though the house of Ravenclaw is home to many creative minds and artists, Gabriel is not counted among them.  Gabriel isn't gifted in art. He was never really able to draw growing up and as such he's not really much of an artist.  Gabriel was at best, good at drawing stick figures. Not to mention the heiroglyphs that he magically carves into wood and stone for his classes, but that is the furthest extend of his artistic ability.
XII. OVERACHIEVER – Gabriel has always been an overachiever. He'd get everything done to the very best of his ability. That means doing his work in the best way possible. This was mostly how he was able to do both Hogwarts studies and independent muggle studies.  However because of this he has a habit of taking on more than he should.  Gabriel tries to help as many people as he can, and thus he sometimes takes on too many things at once. This can stress him out even though he doesn't tell anyone that he is stressed. Briar, however, is one of the few people who are able to pick up on it if he's stressed.
XIII. OBNOXIOUS – Along with his pranks, he is not above making fun of people he isn't fond of. He will also mock these people as well. This kind of ties in with his immaturity.  It might make him seem as a less professional teacher, but Gabriel has his moments of unprofessional-ness.  
XIV. FLYING – Gabriel hates broomsticks. His lessons in flying in his first year at Hogwarts ended with him in the Hospital Wing with a broken arm. He prefers to have his feet on the ground.  He's even antsy while flying in an airplane.  He's not a good flyer and would rather gallop in his animagus form or run.
XV. EASY TO PLEASE – It doesn't take much for his family or friends to make him happy. He doesn't normally have very high expectations of people around him, with the exception of the people who work with him. This is ironic considering his expectations that he has of himself.

erised: His kids married, and happy, and him and Briar growing old together. He also sees his father alive and playing with his son and daughters.
overall personality: Gabriel Perry is a strong willed individual, and is very smart. He has a heart for taking care of people, and he has an open mind. Gabriel is willing to learn from just about anyone. He's very skilled in the medical field, however, is sometimes, arrogant about this. He thinks about others before himself. He does this a lot, and it's part of his coping mechanism. He's a devoted man. Gabriel has a thirst for knowledge and he is able to pick up new concepts fairly quickly. He is a sponge for knowledge. This goes along with his intelligence. He's willing to learn about new things, and thus is able to keep an open mind. Gabriel is always willing to see the whole picture before making a decision or judgment. His insatiable thirst for knowledge is what initially landed him in Ravenclaw as opposed to Gryffindor, which is the other house that the Sorting Hat had been debating on putting him in.

His friends and family will always be a weakness for Gabriel. He does everything he can to keep them safe and happy. He would willingly to risk his life for them if the situation called for it. Briar is by far one of his greatest weaknesses, she is the love of his life, and his closest and most precious friend. There is no question that he would do anything for her, and that is not likely to change. To all of his closest friends, and people he is fond of, Gabriel is fiercely protective. He risks no harm to the people he cares about. He's already suffered the loss of a few, and refuses to lose anymore. Gabe has a code of conduct for himself. He's respectful of most people, especially women. He has a keen eye for details, he has a gift for remembering a person's normal gait, and notices when it's off. He's also very observant when he chooses to be. He has an ability to keep calm in situations that would have most other people hyperventilating. He does indeed feel fear in these situations, but he normally chooses to set that fear aside in such situations.

Gabriel's greatest personality flaw is that he forgets himself. He will always think of someone else before himself. This goes to extremes. He has a tendency to take on more than he should. He's gotten himself sick thanks to this flaw numerous times. He's always critiquing himself. He always finds things that are wrong with him. Gabriel tends to beat himself down, and wonder if he's good enough of a doctor, teacher or of a friend. Gabriel works far too much. When he's feeling overly down and depressed he will work. He will work until the feeling is gone, rather than sit and talk to someone about it. This ends up being a problem since he will work himself sick if the bad feeling doesn't leave him. Gabriel loves his job, and thus uses it to sweep any less appealing thoughts under a rug, to try and forget about them all.

He has always been an overachiever, and a bit of a perfectionist. That perfectionism is really meant for himself as he did his best to make his parents proud, and to provide for his family. Gabriel's overachiever habits have been around since he was a young boy, and he had decided to take Chinese as a language class. Because of this, Gabriel has a habit of taking on far more than what he should, especially when it concerns being useful to other people. In addition to this, he also always seeks improvement, he takes criticism well, and he always keeps it in mind as to work to improve on what he already has. However, when it comes to what others do for him, he has lower expectations, and is sometimes very easy to please.

Transfiguration was very likely Gabriel's best subject in school, tied with Ancient Runes. Gabriel was taught by Professor Minerva McGonagal, and certainly put this schooling to good use. After Hogwarts, Gabriel got some personal coaching from his old teacher and began training to become an Animagus out of sheer boredom and curiosity. However, he astonished that he would transform successfully into an animagus. He is a registered animagus. The form being a Friesian stallion, that stands at 17 hands, bears a silky coat the color of Gabriel's hair, and retains his icy blue eyes. The other best subject of Gabriel's was Charms. He was skilled in the dueling club, and had earned the position of captain while he was in his seventh year at Hogwarts. Gabriel is also bilingual, being fairly fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well as English. He decided to pick up that language as a kid, after taking a joke that his father made seriously. He also has a knack for cooking, his mother had taught him this skill as a teenager, and he seemed to do well with it.

In contrast, Gabriel is not a strong flier, and prefers to have his feet on the ground. He has flown in an airplane before, and that doesn't bother him as much as a broomstick. However, flying does tend to leave Gabriel antsy. He is also not too good at Potions. He needed to get help from his friends to pass that class with good enough marks. Divination was his worst subject, he actually had to drop this class and switched it with Ancient Runes where he found that he excelled immensely. He is also not talented at all at art or dance. For his wedding, Gabriel had done hours and hours of dance practice so that he could at least have a dance with his bride.

Gabriel can be bitter. He is a muggleborn, and as such he has a sort of poor stigma that follows him in the wizarding world. His in-laws had always hated him for it, and he never approved of their behavior towards their daughter. He has a certain stubbornness when faced with things like pureblood elitism, and their bigotry towards other people. It's a thing he can't tolerate. Gabriel is also not above pulling practical jokes on people, and mocking people he doesn't like. This makes him seem immature, though it's a sure sign of how he feels about someone. His jokes are never harmful either. When Gabriel wants to get something done, there is a good chance that he will resort to something dangerous, and extreme if there is no other clear path to success. This can put put himself in danger, as he absolutely refuses to hurt other people that he cares about. And sometimes this means that he would do literally anything if he feels that he has the right motives. Gabriel is also not a good liar, especially when it comes to trying to hide things from his friends and those he cares about.

Bridgette had come to Harvard University as a doe-eyed student ready to pursue her dreams. To her surprise she literally bumped into a pupil of Biochemistry just outside of Harvard, a kind man who offered to take her to coffee after helping her up. His name was Samuel, and he was studying in the science of life. He was a fairly humble gentleman. That fateful day blossomed into a serious relationship, and soon marriage. Samuel and Bridgette were deeply in love, and they wanted nothing more than to share their lives with each other. His father had become a professor soon after he and Bridgette married and had some real prowess in his field. Bridgette became a doctor and had her practice in pediatrics. After nearly thirteen years of trying, and what fertility treatment they could afford(as they couldn't afford the adoption process), the Perry family finally conceived a child, and named him Gabriel, after the archangel. Bridgette would see Gabriel as her precious blessing from Jesus, which was why she and Samuel had chosen such an angelic name for their son. Gabriel's parents would never be able to conceive another child after that. He was born at home at dawn on the 20th day of March in Harvard. Five years later, Samuel packed up his family and left for England after he was extended a new job offer at the University of Oxford. Once at the great university Mr. Perry had begun his job as a professor of Biochemistry as well as being a sort of study abroad representative. They lived in a small house in a suburb of Oxford, where Gabriel would begin his studies in your average muggle kindergarten. In the years following Samuel's job re-location, Gabriel was being taught in etiquette by his mother, and was being schooled in what she was taught to be good behavior. She was determined to raise a gentleman, and not a barbarian. Gabriel had already began his studies in the classes that every child was supposed to take. He was displaying a gift of learning, and an insatiable desire to learn. His mother began teaching him how to behave and how to be a good person in general. Samuel was something of a joker, and did things that could seem cruel to his son, but were really just harmless fun. When Gabriel was about six years old Samuel had made a joke that since it seems that the Chinese are taking over the world that perhaps Gabriel should start learning Chinese. Taking his father's joke seriously, Gabriel indeed took up Mandarin Chinese as a second language when he had requested to begin studying that language. Even then, Gabriel was an overachiever, desperate to make his parents happy, and proud to have him as their son. He was also able to learn things fairly quickly though both Samuel and Bridgette credited this to his genetics. He was also always curious and tried to learn as much as he could about the world around him. It was also during this time when Gabriel would take to watching American baseball with his father when he could. He was also afforded swimming lessons in the summer. As he grew there was some incidences that had his parents baffled, for instance he had gotten angry with a classmate and had set their desk on fire, unintentionally of course. He got into so much trouble that day. However, he had a tendency to get picked on because of his academic habits. Gabriel was a kind of prime target for bullies as he never picked up the local accent for some odd reason, likely from his own stubbornness and deep seated need for individuality. Gabriel also had a tendency to mimic his father, and that meant his accent was adopted as his own. Gabriel also was picked on because strange things tended to happen around him. Despite all that he was able to have a few muggle friends. All of whom he'd grown to love the company of. During this time in school, at the age of 8 he had eaten a sandwich with bad pickles in it and he had to be laid up for 5 days those pickles got him so sick. Those seemed to be the longest days of his life, as Gabriel had felt like he was missing out on so many things especially things at school. Gabriel had grown to become a quieter boy, and learned to control his temper, since when he did lose his temper strange things that he could never explain happened and, frankly it scared him. Once these outbursts landed him outside in the rain for several hours until his mother came to get him. Along with all of these things was how Gabriel's extended family reacted to the strange things that happened around Gabriel at certain times. They were cold, disapproving and critical, towards him thus making Gabriel's desire to make his parents happy even more desperate. The one exception was his maternal grandparents, who always kept in touch with their grandson. They were always kind to Gabriel, and treated Gabriel to many things when he visited their estate in New Orleans. At the age of ten, Gabriel's mother started to teach Gabriel how to cook. He showed some talent for the skill and was quickly learning how to make simple dishes. As he turned 11 years old he received an odd letter. It was an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Samuel found his son's power to be the coolest thing he'd ever seen he'd even thought of this as if Gabriel were going to the academy mentioned in the X-Men comics. After Samuel had made that statement about Gabriel's ability his mother also embraced this side of her son, even if she didn't quite understand it. Gabriel, now no longer fearful of the weird things that happened around him looked forward to going to a school for other kids like him. It would be a great learning experience, like what his father had said. Young Gabriel and his parents were guided around Diagon Alley by a kind soul a half-blooded wizard along with his parents, who helped him buy his school supplies by telling him which stores he and his parents needed to visit. This boy would become Gabriel's best friend in school, and his guide to the Wizarding World. While in Diagon Alley, Gabriel purchased his first wand, he had tried out six wands that had been mismatches until the seventh wand that had a sort of spiral carving into it was placed into his hand. This wand omitted purple and blue sparks when Gabriel waved it, and Mr. Ollivander told him that this wand had chosen it's wizard. This final wand that Gabriel had tried out was made of cedar, was 14 inches long and had the heart-string from a dragon in the core. Ollivander had said something else about that wand but Gabriel never really paid attention to that, something about it being unyielding from what he remembered. He just thought it was cool to actually have such a thing as a wand. It was that day that he also bought his first owl, a tawny owl that he'd named Spock mostly by his father brainstorming names with him for the owl. The day finally came for Gabriel to board the Hogwarts Express. Imagine his surprise when he noted the platform on his train ticket. When Gabriel finally found the platform and boarded the scarlet train, he'd noted how many students were going along. Some of them looked about as nervous as he did, but then there were older students there too. Gabriel found a compartment that he could sit in and just looked through some of his school books. There were so many curious things in there that he never knew existed and he was just in awe. Everything in his books seemed to blow his mind, after all, these were all things that he thought were only in storybooks and TV shows. While on the train he met the halfblooded wizard whom he had met in Diagon Alley and whose parents had guided him around the alley. His name was Lance Seymour and Gabriel learned that they had a few interests in common, namely comics. Lance mentioned that he had grown up in a magical household, but that his mother was like Gabriel, a muggleborn, but his father was a halfblood like him. From Lance, Gabriel learned more about this world that he was just beginning to understand, and he wanted to learn more. All of this was just so cool. The castle was a wonderful sight to behold, and Gabriel was awestruck that he would be spending a school year in a castle like this. Gabriel took in the many sights as he boarded one of the boats that would row to the boathouse at the castle. When he and the rest of the first year students like himself were stopped at a set of doors, a stern looking woman in green explained things about being sorted into houses. Gabriel would later learn that this woman would be one of his professors, but he didn't know that at this time. He wasn't familiar with the concept of the houses at Hogwarts until Lance told him a bit about what he knew from his parents' explanations. The Sorting Ceremony began as this same woman in green would begin reading names off of a parchment, one by one, students would be sorted into the house that they would do best in. When Gabriel had the Sorting Hat placed upon his head, the hat had debated on whether he should go into the house of Gryffindor, or the house of Ravenclaw. Gabriel had a mental conversation with the hat that was leafing through the many layers of his mind. Granted this sensation frightened Gabriel, he was just curious about it as well. The Hat noted his pure heart, and his intelligence, though it seemed that Gabriel also mentally asked the hat a few questions, mostly about how the hat was going through his mind. Gabriel's curiosity became a major turning point in a decision on what house to place Gabriel in. The Hat even looked at Gabriel's lineage, or rather what Gabriel knew of his lineage, a rich ancestry of scholars, teachers, businessmen, scientists and plantation owners. The Hat seemed to even be a bit annoyed at Gabriel's curiosity. The Sorting Hat came to the decision that with Gabriel's background, curiosity, self perfectionism, and an insatiable hunger for knowledge and wisdom, that he would do best in the house of Ravenclaw. Some time after Gabriel had been sorted, Lance had also been sorted and joined Gabriel at the Ravenclaw's table. Gabriel got to know some other members of his house. In his first week, he had met a girl named Briar Pierce, the two got along quite well from the beginning. They became friends soon thereafter, though they had their own circles of friends, Briar and Gabriel ended up being paired up in Potions and Transfiguration quite often. That worked out fine since at least one of them was good at what they were doing. His very first taste of the classes at Hogwarts was an extraordinary experience. However, as the term rolled by, Gabriel found that he had a talent for Transfiguration, and Charms, his best classes in his first three years. However, he did poorly in Potions, a subject that he asked Briar for help quite often. Briar would come to him for help on Transfiguration, as he was among the best in their year and house. Gabriel also really enjoyed Transfiguration, and seemed to get along with the professor of that subject, Professor McGonagall the very woman who was reading names off a parchment during the Sorting Ceremony. She had soon became Gabriel's favorite professor, despite her no nonsense ways of teaching her subject. Through Hogwarts Gabriel studied hard, receiving top notch marks on his work, excelling in Transfiguration, Ancient Runes, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Charms while not doing so hot in Herbology and Potions. He made friendly relations with a good number of other students, most from his own house, but others in the other houses and of many different backgrounds. However, while he was on friendly terms with many of the other students, he really kept a small and close knit group of friends. He did have some problems with bullies, mostly because of his being a muggleborn wizard, he had been called 'Mudblood' a great number of times. It was something Gabriel didn't like, but he hardly let something like that get to him. Gabriel got back at those students by pulling various pranks on them. Gabriel and Lance were like brothers throughout school. They had also made friends with two other boys in Gryffindor house named Eric Anderson and Joseph Achilles. Gabriel played pranks on Richard too, but they were very mild and only meant for fun. Among them were Howlers, a kind of letter that Gabriel learned about from Lance, that Gabriel would send with muggle poetry written in the red enveloped letters. When they were old enough to, Gabriel, Lance, Joseph and Eric joined the Dueling Club, together. They practiced on each other to perfect their skill in magical combat. It was really the only extracurricular thing that Gabriel did besides muggle independent studies. While he was at Hogwarts, Gabriel was sent packets of studies akin to those that muggle children would be doing on top of his wizarding classes. Gabriel actually wanted to continue his muggle studies along with his magical studies. Gabriel's mother and father noted that it might be a good idea to be able to have a career in the muggle world, just in case. Especially since by then the First Wizarding War was at hand, and things were dangerous for muggleborns like Gabriel. His parents knew of the kind of treatment that he got in school from the bullies because of how he was muggleborn, and they believed that Gabriel needed to be able to live outside of the Wizarding World if he needed to. Gabriel wanted to make his parents proud, and getting the best grades possible in both studies were among his highest goals. During his breaks he would take the required standardized tests, and doing everything that he needed to get into pre-medical studies. Gabriel knew that he wanted to get a muggle college education and eventually get into medical school. In Gabriel's fifth year of Hogwarts, he had his first girlfriend in the middle of that year who took advantage of Gabriel's kindness, and fidelity and that relationship had ended badly mostly for him. This girl had been from Slytherin house in the year above him, and they had gotten to know each other while they bumped into each other in the library. Gabriel had a reputation for his prowess in the dueling club, being one of Ravenclaw's top members of the club, the others being Lance, and others. She told him that she didn't care that he was a muggleborn. Gabriel thought he was pretty cool to be dating an older girl. That was until one morning after a Slytherin vs. Gryffindor quidditch match when she was standing outside of the Great Hall with a stressed look on her face. At Gabriel's inquiry as to what was wrong, she told Gabriel that she had been seeing another guy, from her house. This guy, Mark, was standing against a wall about two meters away, as if he were waiting for a fight. Not wanting to cause any drama, Gabriel told her that he understood. However Gabriel was terribly heartbroken then. He was somewhat ridiculed more than normal over this, and how easily he was fooled into this relationship. When he discovered that he had feelings for Briar, Gabriel was hesitant to do anything about them. He had been heartbroken since the last relationship and thus wasn't sure if it was wise to pursue another. However, after much persuasion from Lance, and Briar's friend Pearl, Gabriel finally made the efforts to ask Briar out on their first date towards the end of his fifth year. That date took place in Hogsmeade and included candies that he had enchanted to look like flowers, butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks, and a walk by the Shrieking Shack. She'd already become his confidant throughout school, and he eventually fell deeply in love with her. They were a steady couple through their final years at Hogwarts, and continued to remain faithful to each other even after Hogwarts. Gabriel simply had eyes only for her. She had captivated him to the point where he wouldn't want to date anyone else. By the end of his 7th year at Hogwarts he got an acceptance letter to Harvard University, since Gabriel had applied to the university, along with a few others like Cambridge, Oxford, UCLA, MIT, University of Utah and Princeton. He chose Harvard above all the others because of his parents' legacy there and also because of the strings that his father had pulled to help him get financial aid. So he left the United Kingdom, when he finished at Hogwarts to go to the United States for school. When he got there he began working incredibly hard and took on as many classes as he could so that he could finish with college quick. While he was in Harvard he actually met a few American wizards by the names of Jeremy Nelson, Ryan Lambert, and Greg Elliot. It was a stroke of luck and it was kind of awesome that he would be able to have friends from the Wizarding World while he was in college. The three of them were friends from their own years in wizarding school, and seemed to take to socializing with Gabriel. They had an idea similar to Gabriel's to get an education in the muggle world, and thus were at Harvard to get a college education. Gabriel's social life in college was near non-existent as he poured most of his energy and effort into his studies. He lived in the house in Harvard that his parents had rented out while they lived in Oxford. He shared the house with Jeremy, Ryan and Greg during school, so at least he had friends there. Eventually, Lance and Eric visited Gabriel in school, and they all got along swimmingly. Ryan was looking into Law school, Gregory was into archeology, and Jeremy was working to get into medical school like Gabriel was. Despite his lack of socializing in school, Gabriel had good relationships with his professors. He worked part time and had been saving up for an engagement ring, for Briar. She never left his thoughts while he was in school, and he had a habit of writing to her often. It was around this time that Gabriel finally met Briar’s parents. They disliked him almost instantly, for one reason, he was a muggleborn. It had nothing to do with his behavior or how he treated their daughter, it was solely about his blood status, something he had no control over. Despite Briar’s parents’ opinion of him, Gabriel continued to write to Briar while she was in training to become a St. Mungo’s healer. Needless to say, Gabriel fell more in love with her if that was even possible. During this time, Gabriel had made the decision that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her by his side. In his final semester of pre-medical studies, Gabriel received terrible news while he was in medical school that had informed him of his father's death. Samuel had been working on an experiment in the chemistry lab when something had gone very wrong, and he had died by the time he reached the hospital. Gabriel’s final words at his father’s funeral service were the same words that his father would say to his mother, “I have been and always shall be your friend”. Following a funeral at the cemetery in Oxford, Gabriel went without looking at any comic books nor at any Star Trek episodes as those things reminded him of his dad. Gabriel took this loss hard, as he did look up to his father very much. However, Gabriel continued his education, but he recklessly took on more credit hours and work hours to cope with his loss. Because of how Gabriel had taken on so many classes at once Gabriel was an entire semester ahead of schedule. It was in this time that he had actually gotten himself sick due to the stress of taking too many classes at once. However, with his stubborn determination and self-perfectionism, he managed to finished all the classes that he had enrolled in. In the years during college out of sheer boredom, curiosity and a desire for a challenge, he found out how to become an animagus. He had requested and received some instruction on via owl from his Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts, along with studying this with Jeremy, Ryan and Gregory. His housemates worked on learning this skill with Gabriel mostly to help him take his mind off of his father's death. This was likely one of the most difficult things he'd attempted to do. He soon learned why this magic was so dangerous when he'd gotten literally burned from one of his evenings trying to work on achieving this goal. The spell had backfired and in turn left burns on his torso. Gabriel found himself suffering more backfired spells before he finally succeeded. He had later successfully transformed into a 17hh black Friesian horse the form reflected his shining knight personality, and his need to be useful. In this form he kept his bright blue eyes, and the coat, mane and tail were the color of his hair. He was ecstatic when he had finally transformed, but when he realized he turned into a horse he wasn't too thrilled anymore. He felt less masculine with his animagus form being a horse. Despite all that, he mastered this ability within several years, after many days and nights practicing. Since his father’s death, Gabriel had begun saving his money for an engagement ring. It was something he had been using his paycheck to save up for. Gabriel wanted so badly to ask Briar to marry him, but he wanted to do it properly. However, when his maternal grandparents heard from Gabriel's mother that he was planning on proposing to some lucky woman, they demanded to see him in New Orleans. Over his spring break, Gabriel went to see his aging grandparents in their glorious mansion in the French Quarter. His grandmother gave him her engagement ring, in order to propose to his chosen lady so that he could use the money he saved up for wedding bands to match. In the summer of his 23rd birthday, Gabriel asked the Pierce family for Briar's hand in marriage only to end up being reprimanded by the pureblood elitists that were Briar's parents. Their refusal to let Gabriel marry their daughter only ignited a sort of rebellious streak in him, and made him want to marry her even more. Choosing to ignore what he had been told by her parents, Gabriel sought to ask Briar to be his wife anyway. In the winter of 1982 Briar came to visit him in Oxford while he was home for Christmas and New Years, Gabriel planned an elaborate date. This date had consisted of her receiving a crimson rose every hour for 12 hours. The final rose was presented to her himself when he proposed after a candle-lit dinner. Even though they were quite set on being together forever, he was still surprised to hear her say yes. Gabriel's choice to marry Briar was not without consequences, Briar's family had ostracized her for marrying a muggleborn wizard. With the exception of Briar's brother, Lionel, whom he had got along with due to how Gabriel had been very good to his sister. They married in the following spring under the blossoming crowns of an apple orchard. Briar’s parents didn’t attend their wedding, which in-turn made Briar burst into tears after their ceremony. Gabriel never thought that he would ever have such mixed feelings on such a large milestone of an event. Feeling a mixture, of furious, and guilty, yet joyful Gabriel spent his wedding night comforting his bride. Gabriel and Briar spent their spring honeymoon touring Japan, and under the many pink and white flowers of the cherry trees. Their honeymoon was enjoyable, and Gabriel was happy to see her smile as much as she did. When the returned Gabriel had made arrangements for Briar to live with him in Harvard, and for her to continue her training as a healer as well. Briar moved in with Gabriel into the cottage that his parents owned close to Harvard, it was the house that Gabriel was born in. There, Briar resumed her training to become a healer in the wizarding hospital in New England. About a year following their marriage, they were blessed with a child. A baby girl that they named Grace whom Gabriel had delivered in their home. Three years following the birth of their first child, Gabriel completed his education at Harvard Medical School, and he and Briar felt that it was time that they returned to England. With the what money Gabriel had left from his father's inheritance, he bought a home in Hogsmeade. It was a quaint, good sized Tudor style home, that they had every intention of living in for the rest of their lives. Gabriel decided that he wished to join Briar to work in the magical world, so that they wouldn't have to raise their family in two separate worlds. After some careful consideration Gabriel applied for a teaching position at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He chose a career in teaching because he had noticed that while in college he had a talent in it when he tutored other students for extra money. After a grueling training period of about two to three years, Gabriel was awarded with a job as the professor of Ancient Runes. Briar, meanwhile, continued her work as a healer in the wizard hospital, St. Mungo's. Gabriel came to love his work at the school, and felt very satisfied with his work. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with the younger generations so that they would be prepared for a brighter future. During this time, Gabriel's mother served as a babysitter for Grace, a thing that was greatly appreciated by Gabriel and Briar. By the time Grace turned 5 years old, and in the summer of 1990 Gabriel and Briar were again blessed with another baby, a boy who they named Maximillion Anaximander. They decided to keep the name Max because it made the two of them smile. When June of the year 1995 came about so did the return of the Dark Lord. Believing that he and his family were in danger Gabriel looked to fight against this evil, and joined the Order of the Phoenix. Gabriel served as yet another pair of eyes in Hogwarts, and a sort of medic as he had training in muggle medicine, as well as a quite literal beast of burden should the need arise. now for the person behind the character alias: Kimmy age: 24 experience: about 6 years where'd you find us?: ad hopping anything to add?: His patronus is a Friesian Horse lastly the roleplay sample Class. Gabriel honestly loved his job. He liked it when his students had an understanding for the subject that he was teaching. Professor Perry was well rehearsed in ancient languages and he made it a point to use this knowledge to his advantage as a teacher. He taught his students many ancient written languages from Mesopotamian cuneiform to modern Enochian, and arcane runes. His fifth, sixth and seventh years were being taught Mandarin Chinese and Egyptian heiroglyphs. For this class he had something very interesting planned. Gabriel prepared for a lesson for his 5th years, as a sort of practice for their final exams. In the lessons leading to this one, Gabriel had been teaching his students ancient Chinese characters and reviewing their past lessons in preparation for their final exams. Gabriel remembered getting a bunch of moans and groans from many of his students, about what use said things had. It was time that Professor Perry's class put the things he taught them to use. Gabriel's argument was that his subject was an elective, and they chose to take this class. This would prove interesting to say the least. Gabriel made it a point to try and make his lessons entertaining, and he taught with enthusiasm. Ancient Runes was one of his favorite subjects growing up, and he wanted to share that love with other people. In a black shirt, scarlet tie, black slacks, and black dress shoes, he looked classy as ever. Just before class would start he magically lifted a wooden board about the size of a door to the front of the classroom. However, Gabriel had covered the wood with a black sheet, which would be removed when class started. On the wood he had magically painted calligraphy onto it to make it look like an old Imperial wooden screen. He had something amusing planned for his students. He wanted his students to be able to translate these characters for their in-class assignment, exactly what message was on the door would be his secret. Gabriel looked on as his students began to slowly file into the classroom and get settled down. He was a friendly teacher and began to greet each student by name as they filed in. “Good morning, class” he said walking to the front of the classroom. • I’m also a little uncertain how a student, attending Hogwarts full time, managed to create the sort of transcript (including extracurricular, grades, ect) that Harvard was/is looking for. This is one of those situations where being a double legacy doesn’t quite cut it. I may have missed how you explained that, feel free to point it out if I did!
  
• For Briar, you mentioned that her parents were blood purists (which caused them to disown her upon their marriage); however, she’s a half blood. If one of her parents is a muggle (or muggle born), why on earth are they against her marrying a muggle born?

I think I fixed most of it, Bri is pureblood, and I'd forgotten to make sure that was fixed. As for the second part, I did put that part in, as he was home-schooled like a muggle child, but let me quote that for you.

While he was at Hogwarts, Gabriel was sent packets of studies akin to those that muggle children would be doing on top of his wizarding classes. Gabriel actually wanted to continue his muggle studies along with his magical studies. Gabriel's mother and father noted that it might be a good idea to be able to have a career in the muggle world, just in case. Especially since by then the First Wizarding War was at hand, and things were dangerous for muggleborns like Gabriel. His parents knew of the kind of treatment that he got in school from the bullies because of how he was muggleborn, and they believed that Gabriel needed to be able to live outside of the Wizarding World if he needed to. Gabriel wanted to make his parents proud, and getting the best grades possible in both studies were among his highest goals. During his breaks he would take the required standardized tests, and doing everything that he needed to get into pre-medical studies. Gabriel knew that he wanted to get a muggle college education and eventually get into medical school.
